PYC Double Wide

Verse I There was a big old house for the Yacht Club Pontchartrain

It was always warm and dry except for when it rained

It had a great big bar that always served cold beer

And you knew that your friends would all be there

Then one day a big wind blew it down

And the Lake came up and it washed it all around

When the storm was gone the old house was gone too

But my friend Jeff knew what we had to do

Chorus I He said “Come on gang let’s buy a double-wide

We can put it on our yard and have a bar inside

We can sing and dance and drink a little wine

Don’t cry because everything is fine”

So come on into our pretty double-wide

You may think it isn’t much but we live in it with pride

All our friends are here and we’re having lots of fun

This is it until our new Yacht Club is done

Verse II So off went a team like the three musketeers

There was Jeff and Janie and Kelvin in the Rear

With money in their pockets from the folks at Chubb

They knew they could find their friends a club

They searched everywhere. they searched near and far

Cause they had to find a house to hold a great big bar

Mr. Calvin Klein said “I know just what you want

And I’ll have it on your yard in just a month”

Chorus II Come on into our pretty double-wide

It is really very nice. There are two bathrooms inside

The lady’s room has a really great big tub

Fill it up, have some fun, rub-a-dub

So come on into our pretty double-wide

You may think it isn’t much but we live in it with pride

All our friend are here and we’re having lots of fun

Verse III Well the house rolled up and they put it on the ground

And they tied the halves together and staked it all around

The bar went in and the deck it went up

Bar Keep, my glass is empty. Fill it up!

My friends all cheered and offered up a toast

They threw a great big party and had a big pig roast

The clouds had all lifted. Thing went to light from dark

Pontchartrain had its private trailer park

So here we’ll stay ‘till we have a grand new club

It will have a bigger bar, but not a bigger tub

It will be much nicer when you see them side by side

But for now we’re glad to have our double-wide
