NOTICE OF RACE

1. Rules: The regatta will be governed by the rules as defined in The Racing Rules of Sailing, class rules of the invited classes, except as any of these are altered by the regatta sailing instructions.

2. Eligibility: Sunfish, Optimist, 420’s, Finn’s, Laser, Laser Radial, Lido’s, VXone & J-30.

2.1 This regatta will also be the 2012 USSCA Gulf Coast Regional Sunfish Championship and is a World Qualifying Event for the 2013 Sunfish World Championship.

a. You must be a member of the USSCA/ISCA. Membership forms will be available at the registration table.

b. Boats may be measured against the class rules prior to and/or during the regatta.

3. Registration: Registration will be held at Pontchartrain Yacht Club on June 2, 2012 beginning at 0830, in the Regatta Room.

4. Fees:

4.1 Single handed boats $35.00. US Sailing Members, membership number required, can deduct $5.00.

4.2 All other entries $45.00 US Sailing Members, membership number required, can deduct $5.00.

0830 – 1000 Registration

1000 Skipper’s Meeting - At the meeting the Optimist PRO will announce a time and meeting place for the Opti sailors to have another meeting before going on the water.

1125 Warning Signal for the day’s first start, additional races to follow

Sunday June 3, 2012

1025 Warning Signal for the day’s first start, additional races to follow

1430 No races will start after this time

Awards ceremony will be as soon as possible following the conclusion of all races.

6. Number of Races:

6.1 Optimist will attempt as many races as possible.

6.2 Sunfish will attempt 11 races.

6.3 All other classes – Six (6) races will be attempted.

7. Sailing Instructions: Sailing Instructions will be available at the registration desk.

8. Scoring:

7.1 One (1) completed race will constitute a regatta.

7.2 The low point scoring system of RRS Appendix A will be used.

7.3 Sunfish will have one throw out if 7 or more races are completed.

7.3 All other classes will have one throw out if six or more are completed.
